
Adam Woods is a dedicated coach and mentor who is passionate about helping young athletes grow in both skill and character. With a lifelong background in sports and leadership, Adam brings a well-rounded perspective to athlete development, emphasizing discipline, perseverance, and confidence.
Adam has coaching experience at multiple levels, including serving as a Head Coach for Upwards Middle School Soccer, where he focused on teaching fundamental skills, positioning, and conditioning. He has also worked as a Conditioning Coach for high school volleyball athletes, helping players improve endurance, footwork, vertical jump, core strength, and speed to perform at their highest potential.
As an athlete, Adam competed in soccer through high school, including playing for the City of Chesapeake travel team and contributing to state championship teams. His versatility allowed him to play both offensive and defensive positions, giving him a strong understanding of teamwork and game strategy. In addition to soccer, Adam played baseball through middle school, helping his team win a state championship while playing multiple positions including third base, pitcher, catcher, and outfield. He has also participated in basketball and sand volleyball, further expanding his athletic experience.
Beyond athletics, Adam brings significant leadership experience from serving in key roles within his church and school community from 2018 to 2024. He served as Interim School Director, provided mentorship and pastoral care to students and staff, led youth programs, and helped develop and equip others for growth and success. His leadership experience has strengthened his ability to mentor young athletes, build strong team culture, and help players grow into confident, disciplined individuals.
Adam’s coaching philosophy centers on helping athletes realize they are capable of more than they think. He is committed to creating a positive, challenging, and encouraging environment where athletes can develop their skills, build character, and enjoy the process of becoming their best.
