CAVB is about growing character above all else.
Cultivating Athletes in Virginia Beach (CAVB) was founded with a simple but powerful purpose: to help athletes grow into the best versions of themselves—both on and off the court. Located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, CAVB is more than a volleyball club. We are a place where character is built, confidence is developed, and athletes discover they are capable of more than they ever imagined.
At CAVB, we believe athletic success begins with strong character. Our core values—teamwork, integrity, leadership, faith, discipline, and perseverance—are the foundation of everything we do. We challenge our athletes to work hard, support one another, and never give up, while creating an environment where they can have fun and truly enjoy the game.
Our coaching staff, including Kristina Harlin, Adam Woods, and Natalie Kovacic, brings over 20 years of combined experience in coaching and playing sports. Each coach is passionate about helping athletes thrive, pushing them to grow not only as volleyball players, but as confident, resilient individuals prepared for success in all areas of life.
CAVB serves athletes ages 15–18 through competitive club teams, summer camps, and fall volleyball programs. Whether an athlete is looking to sharpen their skills, compete at a higher level, or simply grow their love for the game, CAVB provides the training, mentorship, and supportive community to help them succeed.
We invite you to join the CAVB family. Register for our club season, summer camps, or fall volleyball and experience firsthand what it means to grow, compete, and belong.
Why Play Club Volleyball?
Club volleyball provides athletes with opportunities to grow beyond what is typically available in school or recreational programs. Through club play, athletes receive more focused coaching, increased training time, and the chance to compete against strong competition from other programs.
Players develop advanced skills, improve their understanding of the game, and gain valuable experience through practices and tournaments. Club volleyball also teaches important life lessons such as teamwork, perseverance, leadership, and accountability. For many athletes, club volleyball becomes a place where they not only improve as players, but also build friendships and confidence that lasts far beyond the court.
The Importance of Conditioning
Great athletes aren’t built by talent alone—they are built through preparation and conditioning. Volleyball requires speed, endurance, explosive jumping, balance, and strong core stability. Proper conditioning helps athletes move faster, jump higher, react quicker, and maintain energy throughout long matches and tournaments. At CAVB, conditioning is an important part of our training because it not only improves performance, but also helps reduce injuries and build the discipline needed to compete at a high level in any sport.
Competing in Tournaments
One of the most exciting parts of club volleyball is the opportunity to compete in tournaments. Throughout the season, CAVB teams compete against other clubs in both local and out-of-town tournaments. These competitions give athletes the chance to test their skills, grow as a team, and experience the excitement of competitive play. Tournaments also help players build confidence, learn how to perform under pressure, and create lasting memories with their teammates while representing CAVB on and off the court.
Meet our Coaches

I started coaching club volleyball 4 years ago and it has been such a wonderful experience! For me, coaching is about the connection and impact a coach has on their players. I think of coaching more as mentoring and I take pride in knowing each of my players. Helping players to overcome adversity and understanding …

Natalie
I started coaching 2 years ago after I ended my last season as a player. For me coaching is about pushing athletes to be their best in attitude, character and in competition. It’s important to me to cultivate a team mentality where everyone feels comfortable to make mistakes they can learn from.
